Skoda is a Czech automobile manufacturer with its headquarters based in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. Formerly known as Laurin & Klement, the company was founded in 1895 as a bicycle manufacturer. It was later acquired by Skoda Works in 1925 and is currently a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. It has also been engaged in motorsports since the 1900s and is now planning to launch six pure EVs and four plug-in hybrids by 2025. At present, it has production facilities in India, China, as well as Russia. The Indian portfolio includes models such as the KUSHAQ, RAPID, OCTAVIA, and SUPERB.
